Police struggle to control Arab mob riots. Three Jews shot

Arab mobs continued to rampage in a dozen mixed Israeli cities Thursday night. The police, though heavily reinforced,  struggled to enforce order amid attacks on Jews, of whom three were badly injured by lynch gangs in Jaffa and Lod. Clashes erupted between Arabs and young Jews. First reports of gunfire against the police and Jews. Another synagogue was set on fire in Lod. In Jaffa, an Israeli soldier was attacked and badly injured. There were also outbreaks in Umm al Fahm, Qalanswa, Bat Yam, Holon and Rosh Ha’Ayin.
