Pompeo in Jordan at start of ME tour to pressure Iran
US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told a press conference in Amman Tuesday that the administration was “redoubling” its efforts to counter Iran’s “malign influence.” He complimented Jordan for its “critical role in regional security and stability including efforts to peacefully resolve the Syrian conflict, fight radical terrorism and counter Iran’s malign activities.” Pompeo will also visit Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman and Kuwait.
