Pompeo neither heard nor read Turkish Khashoggi tapes

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has neither heard audio nor read a transcript related to the disappearance of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi, the State Department spokeswoman, Heather Nauert, said Thursday. She denied the ABC New report, citing Turkish officials, that Pompeo had listened to an audio recording of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi’s murder inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul. Turkish officials have repeatedly claimed they have audio and video evidence of that alleged murder but have never produced it.
