Pompeo to meet Putin in Sochi after talks in Brussels on Iran

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo meets President Vladimir Putin and FM Sergei Lavrov in Sochi Tuesday for talks that were delayed by the Secretary’s conference in Brussels with European leaders on the escalating crisis with Iran. US special representative on Iran Brian Hook dodged questions about Iran’s responsibility for what he said, “seemed to be attacks on commercial vessels anchored off Fujairah.” He admitted that the incident had been mentioned in Pompeo’s talks in Brussels and that the US was “very glad” to meet the UAE’s request for assistance in the investigation. Earlier, President Donald Trump warned that Iran would “suffer greatly” if it targeted US interests.

An unnamed US official in Washington said initial assessments suggested Iran was involved in the explosions on the four ships, but there is no evidence of this as yet.

There are already some B-52 Strato in Qatar, bring in the ones displaced in Afghanistan and round up to two squadrons of 18 each with the ones in North Dakota and Louisiana.
One B-29 loads up to 31 tonnes of conventional bombs, which gives a total well over 1000 tonnes per sortie.
Distances are such that from Qatar they will be able to do easy 5 sorties per day.
