Pompeo: US reimposes sanctions on Iran at noon Tuesday

The US will reinstate the so-called “snapback” sanctions on Iran at noon Tuesday, US Secretary Mike Pompeo said Sunday night on a flight back from Asia. They will affect the purchase of US dollars, gold and other metals and industrial computer software. The White House would release details on Monday morning. The US will impose another round of sanctions in November: a ban on Iran’s oil exports. The “snapback” sanctions were promised by Barack Obama for Iranian non-compliance with the nuclear accord of 2015.

Sanctioning industrial computer software is SMART. Operation, maintainence and repairs of the automatic controls that enable Iranian nuclear facilities to function just became very difficult!
