Presidents Trump and Putin to meet in Helsinki on July 16

The synchronized White House and Kremlin announcements came Thursday, the day after US national security adviser John Bolton was in Moscow to lay the ground for the two presidents’ first fully-fledged summit in Helsinki on July 16. Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin met twice before briefly on the sidelines of international conferences and talked by phone eight times. Trump said Wednesday that at their first summit, they would discuss Syria, Ukraine and “many other subjects.”

A meeting in Finland on July 16? I have a vague notion there was some other ‘event’ in Russia on that day. Now what could that be? Something to do with sport of some sort…. football perhaps? Hmmm. Still, I;m sure it couldn’t be important and even more certain Vlad will heed the Drumpf’s demands and miss out on the PR gold he could otherwise have enjoyed. Imagine if Russia made the final? Do you really think Vlad would jet over to Finland for a chat with the Don?
