Covid-19 cases rise to 12 at prestigious Jerusalem high school
Six pupils and six teachers had tested positive for coronavirus at Jerusalem’s Hebrew Gymnasia High School by Thursday. The town authority and Health Ministry decided to close the school and bring back remote studies as of next Sunday. The 150 teaching staff and students were ordered to undergo testing for the virus. The Gymnasia which produced many of the country’s luminaries celebrated its centenary in 2009. Thursday saw 1,942 actively ill covid-19 patients registered in Israel, a drop of 17. Wednesday night, bars, restaurants and cafes were packed after a shutdown of more than two months.
