Provisional election turnout higher than September
By 4 p.m. on election day Monday, voter turnout climbed to 47pc and the tempo appeared to be gaining towards 10 p.m. when voting ends. This proportion of voting is 2pc higher than the comparable figure in the last election in September. Many voters appear determined to prevent a fourth election taking place by ending the deadlocked race between Likud and Kahol Lavan that paralyzed Israeli politics after the first and second elections.
