Putin arrives in Ankara for talks with Erdogan

Russian President Vladimir Putin was due to arrive in Turkey Thursday for talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on developments in Iraq and Syria, and the independence referendum staged by the Kurds of Iraq.
Turkey, which has battled Kurdish separatists at home for more than three decades, is threatening economic sanctions against the semi-autonomous Kurdish Republic of Iraq. DEBKAfile: Putin aims at pulling  Syria, Iran, and Turkish together for a uniform policy on the Kurdish question, on the model of their alliance in Syria.
