Putin cancels Turkey visit

The Russian president had scheduled a visit to Turkey for next Sunday. He cancelled it after Turkish fighters forced a Syrian civilian plane en route from Moscow to land in Ankara Wednesday night. Moscow has demanded clarifications from Ankara, reporting that 17 Russians were aboard the Syrian aircraft bound for Damascus.  The Syrian government has accused Turkey of “air piracy.”
