Putin consults his Security Council ahead of Patrushev-Bolton talks
President Vladimir Putin discussed relations with Washington with his Security Council in Sochi on Wednesday, a day before the two national security advisers meet in Geneva for the first time since his July 16 Helsinki summit with President Donald Trump. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said Nikolay Patrushev and John Bolton would discuss “a lot of issues and they are sensitive.” He said that bilateral relations between Washington and Moscow “continue to degrade, so there is a need to search for common ground.” From Geneva, Bolton heads for the Ukraine capital, Kiev.
