Putin to attend Normandy Invasion anniversary. Obama will be there too
Vladimir Putin has indicated to close aides that he will travel to France next month to attend the ceremonies marking the 70th anniversary of the allied invasion of Normandy. President Barack Obama has also announced he will attend. Thursday, the Russian president oversaw test launches of Russian military rockets during training exercises held across Russia the day before the anniversary of the WWII allied victory over Nazi Germany. “We are carrying out tests of the readiness of the Russian armed forces,” he said.
