Putin turns Netanyahu down on canceling S-300s for Syria
In a phone call on Monday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu asked Russian President Vladimir Putin to reconsider the decision to supply the Assad regime with an advanced S-300 anti-aircraft missile system. Putin replied that Russia’s actions were aimed at protecting its military. He repeated his Ministry of Defense’s accusations that Israeli pilots were responsible for the IL-20 plane crash and the loss of 15 Russian servicemen. He also pointed out major discrepancies between the MoD and IDF findings on the incident.
