Qassam rocket from Gaza sends Sderot schools running for bomb shelters

It exploded outside the town as 2 million children across Israel heard the first bells ringing in the new school year which started Monday, Aug. 27. The figure has grown with the introduction of free schooling from the age of three. Most schools and kindergartens in the south were fortified over the summer holidays.
