Qatari human rights activist was secret Al Qaeda money man

Reputed international human rights activist and charity adviser to the Qatari government, professor Abd–al Rahman al-Nuaymi, led a secret life. While leading campaigns in Europe for greater freedoms for Muslims, he has been identified by US Treasury Dept officials as funneling millions of dollars to al Qaeda and its affiliates in Syria and Iraq, The Washington Post reports. DEBKAfile adds: Prof. Al-Nuaymi was in the party of the Qatari ruler, who has since been deposed, when he visited the Gaza Strip in Oct. 2012.
