Qatar’s Gaza envoy reports meetings with Mossad chief

Qatar’s Gaza emissary, Mohammed al-Amadi, Wednesday confirmed that Mossad Director Yossi Cohen had conducted a series of meetings with senior officials of the Gulf emirate. Their object was to remove the obstacles delaying the transfer of assistance to the Gaza Strip as a result of escalating violence. He said that the Mossad was actively involved in those transfers, for the sake of de-escalating violence and bringing calm to southern Israel. Qatar was informed, said the emissary, that Israel was interested in the flow of the emirate’s assistance to the Gaza Strip continuing in the coming months too, after the present aid program lapses.
