Report: Israeli rockets kill notorious terrorist Samir Quntar in Damascus
Arab and Russian sources reported early Sunday that Israeli rocket fire had destroyed a building in the eastern Jaramana district of Damascus, targeting Samir Quntar, head of Hizballah's terror networks in southern Syria and the Golan. These reports have not been confirmed. Footage shows a multistorey residential building collapsed and rescue workers digging through the rubble for survivors. Samir Quntar is reviled for murdering four members of a family in Nahariya in 1979. He was released by Israel in a controversial trade in 2008 in exchange for the bodies of two Israeli reservists killed by Hizballah in 2006.
