Report: Talks ongoing for direct Israel-Saudi flights

Israeli officials have confirmed talks are underway to launch direct flights from Israel to Saudi Arabia in time to enable Israeli and Palestinian Muslims to make the hajj to Mecca next month. Hitherto they flew via Jordan.  Riyadh has not commented on the reports. Approval would be a step towards normalizing relations and add Saudi Arabia to the Arab governments which joined the Abraham Accords in 2020. The Saudis have held back until now pending progress on the Palestinian statehood question.
