Restaurants, hotels and pools allowed to reopen on Tuesday

Owners of restaurants and hotels welcomed the permission to reopen on Tuesday after two months of coronavirus lockdown, but at least one-third won’t make it – either because they can no longer pay their way or because they can’t afford the necessary health restrictions. Many hotels will also remain shuttered in the absence of tourist traffic, although Eilat, which was badly hit, reports healthy bookings for the summer.  As of Monday, there were 2,146 Israelis actively ill with coronavirus, 41 in serious condition, 29 on ventilators and a death toll up by one to 281.
