Revised Passover lockdown schedule in Israel
Heavy traffic jammed streets and crowds lined up at food shops early Tuesday before the police announced that the three-day lockdown against coronavirus would begin at 7 p.m. that day instead of 4 p.m. as originally scheduled. Police will reinforce the lockdown on Passover Eve with a curfew on inter-city traffic from Wednesday at 3 p.m. until Thursday morning. The measures will be enforced by boosted police patrols to make sure that the small family Seder dinner is not joined by families and friends from out of town, so threatening a new surge of coronavirus. Face masks are compulsory in public places.
