Rift widens between US and Russia in Syria

DEBKA reports: US spy planes Friday detected Russian forces taking part in combined Syrian-Iranian-Hizballah preparations for a major offensive against rebel-held Daraa on the Syrian-Jordanian border. If this assault goes forward, Russian participation would directly defy the Putin-Trump accord of July 2017, which established a series of de-escalation zones in Syria, starting in the Daraa region.

Trump needs to take Putin behind the wood shed and administer corrective admonition.

Russia had invaded Afghanistan on 12/31/79, 38 years ago to support the puppet government there. This invasion and Chernobyl broke the USSR. The further Russia gets involved in Syria the sooner Russia will break up again. The Russian Jews are hostages that can escape for the time being but not for much longer.

Assad’s attempt to prevent Israel from creating Golan buffer zone is understandable.

Question is, on which side Syrians would be better off?

    Sticks and carrots…

if the Kurds can succeed in holding off the Turks and the Iranians and keep control of their territory, they can stymie the plans of the Iranians and the Turks, both of whom plan on expanding. The Kurds can be the necessary and effective buffer state that the whole area needs to maintain peace. The Turks and the Iranians and the Iraquis all know they have been giving the Kurds a raw deal and that the Kurds will take back their own territory. The Kurds, for their part, know that Iranians and the Turks and the Iraqui lackeys of Iran, will be happy murdering every Kurd. And they know that Assad’s government hates them as well. So it Kurdestan can survive, all the truly corrupt dictatorships in that area (Iran, Turkey, Syria, Iraq) will be stuck with their feet in the mud. Feet of clay. And it will be a first step towards toppling these crummy dictatorships all of which need to go down the toilet of history.
