Rivlin invites Netanyahu and Gantz to discuss unity

After wrapping up his consultations with all the parties, President Reuven Rivlin invited heads of the two leading factions, PM Binyamin Netanyahu and Kachol-Lavan’s Benny Gantz, for a meeting Monday evening to discuss joining forces for a unity government. In talks with the president, 55 lawmakers endorsed Netanyahu as the most promising candidate for the premiership and Gantz – 54. Neither has enough support to lead a coalition government alone.
