Romney picks Congressman Paul Ryan as running mate
Mitt Romney has declared Paul D. Ryan, chairman of the House Budget Committee, is his candidate for vice president in the Nov. 6 presidential election. The 42-year old politician from Wisconsin has made his name in the party by leading the fight for slashing federal spending, tax cuts and Medicare reform as measures for turning the US economy around. His relative youth and willingness to stand up to Barack Obama are seen as major assets.
