Roni Alsheikh takes office as new Israel Police commissioner

Roni Alsheikh, former deputy head of the Shin Bet internal security service, was formally inducted as new commissioner of the Israel Police on Thursday morning in a ceremony at the Prime Minister's Office. Alsheikh will pay a courtesy call to President Reuven Rivlin and then participate in an official ceremony at national police headquarters in Jerusalem, before visiting the Western Wall.
