Russia accuses US of “deadly provocations” in Syria

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Wednesday accused the United States and its allies of orchestrating “deadly provocations” against Russian troops in Syria. “There are a lot of questions to US-led forces in Syria,” Lavrov told pan-Arab newspaper Asharq al-Awsat Wednesday.

“Either they accidentally bomb Syrian troops, after which Islamic State militants launch an offensive, or they get other terrorists to attack strategically important objects … or they stage deadly provocations against our military servicemen.”

Moscow has complained about what it has says are suspiciously friendly ties between US-backed militias, US special forces, and the Islamic State in Syria and accused Washington of trying to slow the advance of the Syrian army.

Lavrov’s deputy, Sergei Ryabkov, said last week that the “two-faced policy” of the United States was to blame for the death of Russian Lieutenant-General Valery Asapov in Syria, something Washington flatly denied.

Moscow’s accusations of the US involvement in his death were first revealed by DEBKA.

Denials concerning terorism is typical of US and EU foreign policy. They support rebels ever since McCain wound up in Syria in Obama’s earl years. Why would there be any difference in their view of why ISIS is useful to thwarting Iranian influence in Iraq under Maliki and now with Russian/Syrian linkage to keep the Syrian army from advancing? The problem with this approach is that ISIS really does not care one way or the other. A linkage between Las Vegas and ISIS is evident but being suppressed by officials. How can they justify mass murder at the hands of terrorists, state sponsored or otherwise is beyond comprehension. Follow the British model of Imperial domination or admit ISIS is actually a scourge on humanity. Except that is they serve a purpose for their continued survival then why bother trying to eliminate them? They are clearly being used as a geopolitical plug and suspicions have it that Saudi, Bahrain and the British SIS back them up. Why they have not been thoroughly rousted out of Raqqa is beyond comprehension. The fact that Bagdhadi has resurfaced is out worst nightmare. Las Vegas was obviously triggered by the release of the tape whether forged or not, this is an old Al Qaeda trick for waking up the sleeper cells. By the way, the Kurds better watch their backside because when push comes to shove with Turkey, the US will abandon them to wolves. On the other hand they may not to want to play patsy going after ISIS either.
