Russia strikes ISIS targets in Syria with cruise missiles
Russia's Defense Ministry said Wednesday that the country's forces operating in the Mediterranean fired four cruise missiles at ISIS targets in the area of the Syrian city of Palmyra, hitting fighters and heavy weapons that had been relocated there from the terrorist organization's de facto capital of Raqqa. The missiles were launched from the Krasnodar submarine and the Admiral Essen frigate, the statement by the ministry said, without specifying the timing of the strike. The US, Israeli and Turkish militaries were given advance notice of the attack, according to the ministry.
