Russia-Ukraine talks to resume as Mocow broadens offensive

A Russian air strike Sunday on the Ukraine base in Yavoriv came closer than ever before to a NATO member, Poland. The base also housed foreign personnel. The hit killed at least 35 and injured 130. Kyiv and Moscow confirm the resumptions of talks on Monday, offering hope for more civilians to flee Russia’s escalating offensive. The UN reports the refugee figure has risen to 2.7m. The ICRC warns residents of Mariupol face a “worst-case scenario” unless Russia and Ukraine reach an agreement to ensure humanitarian access. The situation is dire:  Food and water have run out, there is no power and and dead bodies are lying in the open where they fall.
