Russia warns West on Syria after Obama’s threats
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned the West Tuesday Aug. 21 against unilateral action on Syria, saying that Russia and China agree that violations of international law and the United Nations charter are not permissible.
Lavrov spoke after US President Barack Obama said in his strongest language yet on Syria that he would reconsider his abstinence from action against President Bashar al-Assad if he deploys chemical weapons.
