Russia wins $400bn deal to supply gas to China

The gigantic $400bn deal is termed a milestone in relations between the world’s largest energy producer and biggest consumer. Russian will supply China with natural gas through a new pipeline over 30 years. The accord signed in Shanghai after a decade of talks was termed by Vladimir Putin an “epochal event." This boost to the Russian economy comes as US-European sanctions over the Ukraine controversy start biting.
