Russian bombers fly close to Alaska for second night

Tuesday night, for the second time in a row, two Russian nuclear-capable Tu-95 “Bear” bombers flew near Alaska. They came within 36 miles from the coast, closer than the first time and further inside the US Air Defense Identification Zone. This time, the US Air Force did not scramble fighter jets, but an AWACs – possibly to avoid any further escalation.
