Russian defense minister on surprise visit to Tehran

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu arrived in Tehran Sunday less than a week after the Iranian defense minister visited Moscow. He delivered a message from President Vladimir Putin to President Hassan, who said only that the only solution to the Syrian crisis must be political. Shoigu also met with his Iranian counterpart to discuss the huge arms transaction in negotiation between Russia and Iran. 

However, Syria was clearly the main topic on the agenda of his sudden trip to Tehran, with no sign of the internationally agreed truce taking effect.
