Russian envoy to Beirut praises Hizballah as “responsible force”

Russian ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin attacked the US for “sowing discord between Israel and Lebanon” and its “campaign against Tehran and the Lebanese Hizballah movement.” In an interview with Sputnik on Saturday, the Russian diplomat said. “As for a conflict between Israel and Lebanon, nothing can be predicted with certainty because the region is at a crossroads” he said. He went on to praise Hizballah for “siding with the lawful authorities… to become directly involved in military operations at Syria’s request, alongside Russia and Iran.” The Russian ambassador hailed Hizballah as “a powerful political party actively involved in in the work of Lebanon’s parliament and government in support of stability, security, interfaith peace, and national dialogue.”

    Question?
What do the russians really want?
As far as I know Syria is about the quest of running a gas pipe line from Quatar to the mediterranian sea.
The Russians are against the pipeline as Gazprom gas sales to the EU are challenged.
So what about libanon? Is the pipelibe due to run through Syria to Libanon and to terminate there at a habour to fill gas ships?
What about the Leviathan gas field of Israel which is near that area in Israeli waters?
So if Israel does not want the pipeline in order to sell their Leviathan gas why is there friction with the Russians?

Find the Dereck Walker channel on UTube and watch his series on the coming invasion of Israel. He covers the motivations of the various players (he’s an Oxford scholar).
