Russian FM: I’m baffled by the uproar over Trump Jr.’s meeting with lawyer
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Wednesday that he was "bewildered" by the media uproar over a meeting between US President Donald Trump's son and a Russian lawyer during the presidential campaign. "What could be the problem for anyone to meet with a lawyer?", he asked while speaking to reporters in Brussels, claiming it is an effort "by serious people to make a mountain out of a molehill." Donald Trump Jr released e-mails in which he said he met with Natalia Veselnitskaya because he was told she might have damaging information on Hillary Clinton as part of Russian government backing for his father's campaign. Trump's son offered to testify on the affair to Congress under oath.
