Russian FM: US support for Syrian Kurds is “playing with fire”

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov lashed out at the US over what he described as its “provocative” support for autonomy-seeking Kurds in Syria and warned the Trump administration “not to play with fire.” Speaking Monday at a Middle East conference in Moscow, he said, “Their very dangerous games could lead to the dismemberment of the Syrian state.”” With his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif and a top adviser of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad alongside him, Lavrov said: “We are seeing attempts to exploit the Kurds’ aspirations.”

The Kurds deserve a country of their own.

Cut out parts from fascist iran, syria and turkey for a Kurdistan.

They do deserve a country. They have been willing to fight Islamists, and unlike Turkey, have been reliable allies. That Iran and Turkey oppose establishment of a Kurdish state, is one more reason to be for it.

Agreed…They are our only reliable ally in the region. Perhaps the Russian involvement in the Region can be construed as Russia “playing with fire’.

Wouldn’t that lead to dismemberment of the whole Middle East? Those artificial borders were forced upon local populations against their will. The system which Western powers have created there is not working. Epic mess of biblical proportions and there is no easy way out of it…

Whatever Lavrov and even Tillerson may say or not say Syria invented by dead French aspirations will never be the state. All Shia will be slaughtered eventually by Suni. Nice and smells good as Romans would say.

    – Well, that tells the whole story, doesn’t it?
    – Russia, Iran, and Damascus are trying to gang up
    – on Israel and the US
    – that never worked before
    – and it won’t work this time either

Pretty stupid comment by Russian FM considering what they’ve been doing of late….I only hope that last weekend’s annihilation led iran, supported by russia, syria is repeated if they attack again. The Kurds deserve a state and recognition, so much more so than the “fakestinians”. Russia Go Home!

Why should they go home? They were invited by the internationally recognized country. Who invited the Americans? Oh, that’s right, no one did. So your comment should read: “Yanks go home!”

Russia is supporting, financing, and weaponizing the genocidal forces of Iran, Syria, Hezbollah, Mahmoud Abas, and the Fakestinians. Russia is helping Gaza to become under Irans control. If it supports Iranian Nazis and helps them surround Israel, then Israel must depend on only G-d! The G-d of Israel and the Jewish People must demand that the Russian and Iranian presences be removed from Israel as they have already carried out genocides and gassing of the Syrian People, Sunnis, and Kurds and are surrounding Israel while consulting with eich other to attack Israel. Israel must hit quick and hard without mercy. Whoever backs Iran and genocide will fall!

I have not read ANYWHERE that there were Iraninas or Russians in ISrael… And no, the Syrians did not gas their own people (why should they). In fact there is A LOT of evidence that it was ISIS who launched these chemical attacks with hopes that Assad’s forces will be blamed. And there is A LOT of evidence that they acquired the gas artillery shells from Ukraine with the help of the US.

And oh, yes, Israel was/is supporting ISIS by providing them with weapons, logistical support, intelligence info and also treating their wounded in Israeli hospitals.

Russian support for Iranian Genocidal attempts against Israel, against Syrian Sunnis, Kurds, and aiding Bashar Assad and Hezbollah in gassing their own people is playing with fire that they should stop lighting. Actions speak louder than words! Israel is not as stupid as people think but we are kind! Whoever attacks us can rest assured that they will have a respectful burial!!

During the 8 hellish 0bamayears I liked Putin. He seemed strong and wise. If he is going to side with Turks against Kurds, Israel and/or USA, Russia will again be viewed as an enemy.
