Russian Su-34 jets take off from Iran for bombing missions in Syria

Russian Sukhoi Su-34 fighters took off for the second day in a row from their new base in Hamadan, western Iran, for bombing runs against ISIS targets in Syria, the Russian Defense Ministry said Wednesday. Previously, DEBKAfile's military and intelligence sources said that the Russian air force will place S-300 and S-400 missile batteries at Iran's Noji airport, located about 50 kilometers west of Hamadan.
