Russian, Syrian foreign ministers to US: Call off strike

Russian and Syrian foreign ministers Sergey Lavrov and Walid Moallem, after meeting in Moscow Monday, expressed surprise in a joint news conference that President Barack Obama was planning a military strike that would aid al Qaeda two days before the anniversary of 9/ll. They called on the US tor focus on convening a peace conference on the Syrian crisis instead of military action.
