Russian team leaves Ankara without Idlib deal

Turkish sources report that the Russian team holding talks sine Saturday in Ankara on halting the Turkish-Syrian clashes in Idlib left the Turkish capital on Tuesday without making headway. In the past week, 13 Turkish soldiers were killed in clashes in the northwestern province where the Syrian army is advancing rapidly to retake the rebel-ruled province. Turkish officials placed the onus on Moscow for stopping Syrian attacks immediately on Turkish outposts in Idlib. Syrian government forces seized control of the Aleppo-Daraa for the first time since 2015. Moscow has not commented on the talks.
