Sanders retires from 2020 US presidential campaign
Sen. Bernie Sanders on Wednesday suspended his campaign for the 2020 Democratic presidential nomination, leaving a clear pathway for former VP Joe Biden as the sole party contender to to run against President Donald Trump. Sanders pledged his and his 300 convention delegates to supporting Biden, in the hope that he would carry forward the progressive ideology that he would continue to fight for. In the current coronavirus crisis, Sanders emphasized the importance of recognizing that health care is a basic human right.
