Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE, Egypt cut ties with Qatar

Saudi Arabia announced it was severing relations and closing land, sea and air ports with Qatar "to protect its national security against terrorism and extremism." Egypt said Qatar had taken an anti-Egyptian course and continued to support terrorism. Bahrain gave Qatari diplomats 48 hours to leave the kingdom. Qatar’s al Jazeera TV channel was blocked by Saudi Arabia.
