Saudi-Qatar talks on their dispute break down

Talks for resolving the bitter Gulf rift broke down on Tuesday shortly after they started. Qatar sought to end the embargo on political, trade and transport ties imposed in 2017 on Gulf emirate, accused of facilitating terrorism and friendship with Tehran, which Doha denied. Qatar sought to end the embargo, while Riyadh wanted Doha to first revamp its foreign policy in the region so that the Gulf Arabs can present a united front against Iran.
