Saudis launch air strikes on Yemeni towns overrun by Houthi rebels
Shortly after an announcement by the Saudi ambassador to Washington, the kingdom’s air force in coalition with Gulf allies began attacking the Yemeni capital Sanaa’s airport and Its Dulaimi military air base before dawn Thursday. They went into action to counter the Iranian-backed Houthi rebellion which had begun to besiege the southern Yemeni port of Aden after earlier overrunning the capital and putting the president to flight.
