Saudis report foiling ISIS terror plot, arrests of foreign conspirators
In one of two separate statements, Saudi Arabia Tuesday claimed that two Yemen nationals – one a member of the opposition Houthi – and two Saudi citizens were detained on suspicion of conspiring to bomb the defense ministry headquarters in Riyadh. Suicide belts, grenades and firearms were seized, according to a security official talking to the Saudi Press Agency.
In the second statement, a:”security source” told Reuters, that an unnamed group had conducted “intelligence activities for the benefit of foreign parties.” It was accused of “having contacts with and receiving financial and other forms of support from two other countries (unnamed) to harm the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and with the aim of destabilizing the security and national unity in preparation to overthrow the Saudi regime in favor of the Muslim Brotherhood."
