School bus disaster in Jordan. 17 dead. IDF helps rescue and search
At least 17 children are dead,11 have been rescued, and many still missing after a Jordanian school bus on a field trip with around 40 children was swept away by a flash flood on the eastern shore of the Dead Sea on Thursday. The IDF has joined the rescue effort. Israeli Air Force helicopters went over to help find survivors, along with the 668 Search and Rescue Unit. Volunteer teams of the Etzion and Megillot rescue units will join the search at first light Friday. The disaster occurred when a flash flood, to which the Dead Sea area, the lowest point on earth, is prone in the rainy season, swamped the bus and swept it away.
