Scores of Palestinians injured attacking Israeli undercover unit
The Israel unit was unmasked while arresting a wanted Jihad Islami operative, Murad Beni Ouda, at Kafr Tamun south of Jenin on the West Bank. Under attack by a rowdy crowd of villagers chucking rocks, the unit signaled for help and was safely extricated with difficulty by a large military force which surrounded the village and used tear gas to break up the disturbance. According to Palestinian medics, at least 30 people were injured from rubber bullets and another 100 from tear gas, one of whom was moved to hospital with a serious eye injury.
