Scottish First Minister calls for second independence referendum
Nicola Sturgeon Scottish first minister said Monday she will seek approval next week for a second referendum on Scottish independence between autumn and next spring. This would place Scotland in position to negotiate with the EU separately from the UK’s decision to quit Europe – or even take over the UK’s membership. Sturgeon said it is important for Scotland to set out its position so that it can make "an informed choice about its own future" before Brexit.
