Sean Spicer resigns as White House press secretary
White House press secretary Sean Spicer resigned after telling President Trump he totally disagreed with the appointment Friday of the New York financier Anthony Scaramucci as communications director. Trump asked Spicer to stay on, but he refused, saying the new appointment was a major mistake. For some weeks now, Spicer’s impending departure from the White House was rumored and his exposure diminished. It was also said that Spicer, a formal naval officer, would move over to a senior job in the US Navy high command.
