Second Obama call to Netanyahu about Gaza operation

US President Barack Obama phoned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Sunday to voice serious concerns about the rising number of casualties in Gaza. Israel has the right to defend itself, he said, and the US condemns Hamas attacks against Israel, he said. But "The president also raised serious concern about the growing number of casualties, including increasing Palestinian civilian deaths in Gaza and the loss of Israeli soldiers," the White House said in a statement describing the conversation.
