Senior Defense Ministry official Amos Gilad to step down

Amos Gilad, who has headed the Israeli Defense Ministry's political-military affairs division for the last 13 years, announced Wednesday that he intends to leave his post. The 65-year-old Gilad previously served as head of IDF intelligence's research division and as coordinator of government activities in the territories. A special committee will convene in the near future to find a successor.
