Sensational Rada murder mystery to end with retrial verdict

The Nazareth District Court verdict was tensely awaited Thursday morning in the retrial of Roman Zadorov 13 years after he was found guilty of murdering 13-year old school girl Tair Rada a the Nofey Golan school in Katzrin. Many, including Rada’s mother charged that Zadorov, maintenance worker at the school, was framed for the murder and his first trial was unfair. In 2021, the High Court ordered a retrial. In August 2021, after 15 years in prison, Zadorov was released to house arrest. In July, 2022 a new mitochondrial DNA test conducted on hair found at the scene of the crime pointed to a different suspect. None of the hair there matched Zadorov’s. The new trial was however fraught with conflicting evidence in the case.
