Settlement leader: Annexation worthless if it goes with Palestinian state

Jewish Judea and Samaria settlement leaders turn thumbs down on President Donald Trump’s “Deal of the Century” because it establishes a Palestinian state. This was stated in a radio interview by David Ohyani of the Yesha Council that represents the leaders of Jewish communities in Judea and Samaria. A group of those leaders accompanied PM Binyamin Netanyahu on his trip to Washington for the presentation at the White House on Tuesday of the Trump plan for an Israel-Palestinian peace. Ohyani voiced amazement over the prime minister’s consent to a Palestinian state. Even broad sovereignty for all the Judea, Samaria and Jordan Valley communities is worthless if it is part of that deal. Better to leave the status quo. He stressed that a Palestinian state must be prevented at all costs as it presented an existential threat to Israel, most of all for the densely populated coastal plain and “a 100 years of insecurity.”
